The Life Design Podcast

This weekly podcast is about designing your life in order to live it to it‘s fullest. Your hosts, Carlos & Susanne Hidalgo, have been applying Life Design principles for the last four years and will share the lessons they have learned, the approaches they take to continually design the life they want and also feature guests who have designed their lives and are living life to it‘s fullest.

Tiffany Krumins was awarded $50,000 on the PILOT episode of Shark Tank. Tiffany's brainchild was inspired by a sweet-natured boy with Down syndrome who struggled to take medication. As his nanny, Tiffany tried her best to soothe his anxiety. With lightning creativity, she combined fabric, sponges, and a medicine dropper, and breathed life into her creation by embedding a recordable sound chip from a greeting card. Ava the Elephant ® was born and is now one of Shark Tank's most well-known and beloved successes.

A respected inventor, iHeartRadio podcast host, motivational speaker, successful entrepreneur, and mother of three, Tiffany now leads her teams with the daily intention that business success and personal fulfillment are not mutually exclusive.

In this last episode before the summer break of The Life Design Podcast Tiffany joined to share her Life Design Insights, talk about the power of saying no, feeling peace, and dealing with trauma.

"Some days the only thing you'll improve about your situation is your outlook on it. And that's okay." This is one of the many outlooks on life that Jesse Noyes has adopted and shared in this episode of The Life Design Podcast.

For 16 years, Kel Haney was a Theater Director in New York City. Working in a job she loved with big dreams until the pandemic changed it all.

Most often you cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your response to it and what you make of your circumstances. So instead of waiting for life to happen, Kel and her husband made the decision to create a life for themselves that was more in flow.

This included leaving New York City, changing careers, and making more space for the things that she loves.

In this episode of The Life Desing Podcast, Haney discusses what led to the decisions she made, how relationships should be a place of expansion, the value in finding calm within yourself, and why you should follow those things that fuel you.

All of us have had our fork in the road moments. Those times when we are faced with key decisions that we have to make as well as those times when life throws things at us that we could have never expected. What would those times look like if we allowed ourselves to sit in the quiet and imagine if?

"Imagine If" has been the ethos for Rachel Downey for the last number of years starting with the premature birth of her daughter. In this episode of The Life Design Podcast, Downey shared her approach to Life Design and how "Imaging If" has led her to create a successful business, be a mom to three great kids, and have a vibrant marriage.

Downey shares how she seeks to be intentional in all areas of her life, the approach she takes to define boundaries, why you do not need a Plan B, and the power we can all have if we allow ourselves to "Imagine If".

For Alan Thomas, there was a day not that long ago when time stood still. He was 55 and as he looked down at the scale the number 304 lbs looked back at him. As he looked down at the scale, there were three thoughts that he had - he could not recall ever meeting a 65 year old man that was more than 100 pounds overweight, meaning that he likely had less than 10 years to live.  He would likely be known as his wife's first husband, since he would probably be dead in less than 10 years and all of his dreams would be cut short by his obesity.

This experience led Thomas to commit to change and in November of 2017, he publically stated his commitment on his Facebook page and that was to lose 129 lbs in 252 days. Not only did Thomas reach his goal, but he also reached it five days ahead of schedule.

In this episode of The Life Design Podcast, Thomas shares his transformation story, discusses how he now helps others transform their lives, and reminds those that struggle that it is never about the weight. Thomas discusses the idea that whatever belief we hold to, that is the one that will make us right and challenges all to begin living a life they are capable of living.

Many take the normal everyday things in life for granted. However, when our health impacts our quality of life, it provides a new perspective and provides us a chance to savor the normal and puts a higher value on things like a simple meal or a conversation with a loved one.

This is the experience of Lee Odden. Lee is a CEO and agency co-founder and four years ago he was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN), a chronic nerve pain condition. In this episode of The Life Design Podcast, Lee shares his journey through this disease, and how during this time he has transformed himself by losing 65lbs and adding regular exercise to his lifestyle.

His authenticity and vulnerability come through clearly during this discussion and he urges all of us to savor the privilege of normalcy and move towards those things that are satisfying.

Bo & Emilie Totten admit that they do not have it all figured out. However, they knew that when they looked at their life that something had to change if they wanted to design a life that they loved.

Bo & Emilie talked about these changes and the impact it has had on their family in this episode of The Life Design Podcast. They openly talk about Emilie's work as a marketing executive and Bo's focus on creating art and his role as a stay-at-home dad. They discuss their decision to move to the suburbs and also Bo's commitment to sobriety which is now going on four years and how all of these decisions have impacted their lives.

It starts, as they say, with asking yourself "what am I willing to do to make it happen?" By asking that question, they know that they are not stuck in anything and are enjoying their Life Design journey.
